Read this book! Please read this book! This is the first time I have ever recommended a book I myself have not yet completely finished reading. But I'm breaking a rule today because I am so very impressed with Joel Rosenberg's latest efforts. This book is the best, most comprehensive and downright fascinating look at Iran and Radical Islam I've read in a long while. Even someone with a nose for this stuff and a fairly aggressive reader like myself will learn much. The only caveat I'll place on my recommendation is that you must agree to read the entire book, not just the first section. While the book is large and I know most folks don't typically read large non-fiction, this one is worth it. But the other reason you must agree to reading the book in its entirety is that the first section of the book on Radical Islam will leave you in despair. You must read the second and third sections to get a full (and much more encouraging!) perspective. This book will give you hope and insight almost no other book or writer will.
Joel Rosenberg's unique perspective, as a Christian of Jewish heritage, and his stunning access to the power players about which he writes, make this book well worth your time.
If you're finding yourself discouraged and despairing over what is going on in Iran and the Middle East, this is a book you must make time for this summer. You won't regret it.
